We build custom PC’s and when using Quickbooks we created a Sales Order when taking the order from the customer which was then converted to an invoice when the machine was collected. The same thing with a Laptop, when we set it up for them and they collected it later. This meant that the warranty started from the time of collection rather than at the time of order. This is hugely being requested by people using Quickbooks online as it does not exsist on that either (we used Quickbooks Desktop)

Also We build custom PC’s and need a way to have an item which is named as the PC Build name which allocates the items from stock that make up this build.

    Hi Steve,

You can set the warranty date to any date you specify from Asset tab in the ticket. There are presets for 30/90/180 days, 1 Year, 2 Years and 3 years. You can also set the purchase date, delivered date and installed date if applicable.

What we need to be able to do is take several components out of stock that make up one PC and then put that PC in to stock. Is there a way to do this?

Maybe the tote box transfer could do this but it currently is only for assets and not stock items.

I will add a custom product to the new features list. I already have a requirement for Build Of Materials i.e. create a single product from multiple products in inventory. If you have any examples of how you think this feature could work let me know…

    Hi Paul,

    How would this work:

Add a custom product called ‘Assemblies’ to inventory.
Under the ‘Long Description field’ could you make this a searchable parts field to choose the parts to use in the assembly.
Only show the price of the assembly item, not the individual parts on paperwork.
Then on New Ticket in the ‘Type’ field add ‘Sales Order’ to the options.
Under ‘Job’ tab, add ‘Assembly’ to the other options.
Go to ‘Charges’ tab, choose the assembly and take deposit or payment.

I am currently working on this. No timescales just yet (but I plan a beta to be ready in the next few weeks though).

My workaround (and the way have always done this in my own shops) is I use the Parts tab to create a custom build. Add each part in i.e. CPU, MB, RAM etc. There is also a quick Add to Invoice button which adds margin automatically I use a lot (although I appreciate you just want to list the parts, no prices). I simply then add a charge (editable inventory part) called “Custom Build PC” to the invoice charges.

I also log the serial numbers in the parts tab for all parts I provide customer for fast lookup in case of warranty.

I have probably bitten off more than I can chew as the more I work on this feature, the more complicated it gets!  I am working on stock deduction and custom pricing at the moment.  Don’t have an ETA but looking to have a beta soon for initial tests.

Paul any updates on the progress on this update and also the SMS problem I was having? I sure do like where you going with this update along with the license update. I do appreciate all the hard work that goes into a project like this. Just wondering Thanks

I am currently making some minor updates and will be testing it shortly.  Timed with a new shop opening means some CRS development has slowed down in the last two weeks whilst I am fitting out the shop and getting it ready for opening.

Not forgotten though…  this feature is a welcome one for my shops so looking forward to rolling it out in my shops to test before sending a beta to you.
